Hall Bulldog Period Drawings
Part of The Hall Bulldog Project — documenting Bob Hall's 1932 Thompson Trophy racer.
Explore the Project →These drawings represent some of the earliest technical documentation of the Hall Bulldog, created during or shortly after its 1932 racing season. Unlike the later drawings made by aviation historians and modelers working from photographs and memories, these period drawings were created when the aircraft still existed and could be directly measured and observed.
The Collections
The drawings come from two sources: Bradford and Primo Galletti. The Bradford collection includes detailed wing construction drawings that provide insight into the Bulldog’s distinctive gull wing structure. The Galletti drawings include 3-view representations of the complete aircraft.
A Note on Provenance
I have lost the details on exactly where I got these drawings and their complete provenance, but I do have some notes left to review. If you know anything more about these drawings or their origins, please contact me!
